Rose

Today marks the inaugural day for IHeartColour.com. IHeartColour.com is a website for color inspiration and information. Everyday you will be provided with a brand new color, never to be repeated again.

Each and every colour will get a thorough examination of its uses, traits and intricacies so as to better understand colours.

But what meanings are conveyed by the colors that surround us in everday life? If we could grasp their real meanings, perhaps we would be able to use them more effectively.

One colour that I seem to keep coming back to in my designs is the colour Rose. Maybe I inwardly like pinkish colours, but I think it has to do with how bold it looks.

Rose is the colour halfway between Red and Magenta on the colour wheel. The colour Rose contains a full-saturation of Red and half-saturation of Blue on the RGB scale. You might want to call this colour Fuchsia, but Fuchsia is just another name for Magenta.

Rose is a bright, bold, energetic, youthful and vibrant color. It works well with other bright colours such as fully-saturated blues, greens, and yellows. Also, pairing Rose with black accentuates the colour and gives it an electric feel.
