Oh, Fudge!

Brown, loved and cherished in the 70s, tossed away for bright coloured legwarmers in the 80s. Thankfully, it made a comeback in the 00s.

In order to use color effectively it is necessary to recognize that color deceives continually.
– Josef Albers

This shade of brown is a dark orange-red brown, having more orange than red. Deep browns convey a luxurious, deep, earthy, mature and often exquisite feel. Dark browns can be seen in things such as leather, wood and coffee. These items enhance the luxurious feel of this brown.

It isn't surprising that Banana Republic is using a browns in their current website's colour scheme. Their clothing line caters to a higher-end crowd of mature, wealthy, stylish professionals.

Most of Banana Republic's clothing line uses lighter, earthy shades of blues, greens and red-oranges. These colours compliment the browns used on their website very well.
